Fourth Test-playing tour of South Africa by New Zealand

New
Zealand lost a one-day series 4-0 in South Africa
in October-November 2005 and returned in the southern hemisphere’s early
autumn to play three Test matches. There was only one warm-up game.
The South Africans had just
lost a home series against Australia
and
Sir Richard Hadlee (convenor),Dion Nash,Glenn Turner.

Lou Vincent.
Test Tour Party Announced: Tuesday 28 March 2006.
Unavailable: Lou Vincent wanted to attend the birth of his first child.Mathew Sinclair was getting married. Both
said they would be available as reinforcements if needed during the Test
series.
Jacob Oram had a bruised
heel but he passed a fitness test and was chosen.
Papps and Oram were the
only additions to the thirteen chosen for the 3rd Test squad against West Indies.

squad returned from the one-day leg of their South Africa tour, flying into Christchurch
Airpot on 9 November 2005.
Not until 3 April 2006 did the team depart Christchurch Airport
again for Johannesburg
and the Test series..
Franklin, James Marshall and Patel joined the tour
from the one-day section of the A
series in Sri Lanka.

•Stephen Fleming’s massive innings at Cape Town of 262 (31 fours and two sixes) helped New Zealand
