Selection

Unavailable   Geoff Allott  (stress fracture to the lower back), Simon Doull (knee injury).

Fast bowlers Geoff Allott, Simon Doull and Chris Cairns needed specialist treatment when the team returned from England in August, but only Cairns recovered fitness sufficiently for the Indian tour.

Team announced:  31 August 1999.

Not selected   Carl Buffin, Roger Twose (Chris Spearman won his place), Brooke Walker.

Chris Cairns had to undergo a further fitness test on his right knee before being cleared for the tour.

The New Zealand selectors announced an updated squad for the ODI's in November.  Allott's hopes to be included in the ODI squad were dashed when his recovery from a back injury was slower than expected.
